ORIGINAL INVITATION DOCUMENTS REQUIRED!
Employment Z-visas give the bearer legal tax status in China and
allow entry to China for purpose of work employment. Teachers
seeking ESL Employment in China require to obtain a z-visa prior to
entry. Provinces will not convert a tourist or business visa to
employment z-visa status.
Qualifying for a Work Visa
There is one national rule detailing the requirements about
obtaining a z work visa for China. However, the reality is that
provinces exercise enforcement of these rules differently and with
variable strictness.
TO QUALIFY FOR A WORK VISA YOU WILL NEED:
1. 4-Yr Diploma
2. Signed Contract With Chinese Employer Legal to Host Foreigners
3. Work Permit Completed
4. Passport Scan, and Photograph
ADVANCED REQUIREMENTS: (Variably Enforced Across
Provinces)
A. 2-Years Experience outside of school.
B. Authenticated FBI Criminal Clearance (Guangzhou has this
requirement)
C.
Accredited TEFL Certification - Required of ESL Teachers for
some provinces.
Understanding Your Z visa
This visa type is single entry and valid for a period of 30-days.
You must register at the local Public Security Bureau within 48
hours of arriving. '000' means single entry valid for 30-days.
There are no multiple-entry Z Visas. You must obtain residence
status for multi-entry.
During the 30-days period, your employer should begin the
formalities of registering you for a
Residence Permit. Once a Resident Permit is obtained, you will
be able to travel in and out of China without the need of a multiple
entry visa for as long as your residence permit is valid. Residence
permits are usually valid for the term of your contract and usually
not more than one year.
There are no multiple entry visas issued for z
visas. You cannot leave China in the first thirty days after
you arrive and until you have successfully completed residence
formalities, otherwise you will have to begin the entire invitation
process over again from the beginning. Once you obtain your
residence permit, you will be able to come and go as you like.
Medical Examinations
You should have your physician complete the medical form before
applying for a Chinese visa. It is important for the following
reasons: It will medically certify you for employment
eligibility.
You do not need to send us the completed medical form. This is
something that you will need for your employer in China.
It is important to note that you will also receive a medical
evaluation within thirty days after you arrive in China. The most
they will do is take blood and perform an ultra sound. Most of the
time you will have to fill out forms confirming that you are
healthy.
Those with serious heart disease, HIV or other
communicable diseases will not be granted residence status and most
employers will require you to leave immediately.
