J-1 Visa issued to foreign journalists who are
posted to China for at least one year.
J-2 Visa issued to foreign journalists who are on temporary assignment in
China.
Journalists seeking visas to travel to China must first obtain the proper
invitation documents from the relevant Chinese authorities. The
invitation document must be an original and clearly state the term of your
stay in China and the reason for your invitation.

- Make sure your passport is in
compliance.
- Pay online and print out your
receipt.
- Mail all of your documents including
your passport.
- Original invitation documents and one
copy of each.
